Illness Policy

Carm’s Counselling & Therapy – Illness Policy

My therapy room is a safe place.  I want you to come and feel safe.  I don’t wish to bombard you with health and hygiene rules that will overwhelm you or feed your fears and anxieties.

However, I want the therapy room to be a safe place physically and mentally.

I’ve taken care to make if safe therapeutically so it looks nice, it has good resources and is comfortable.

So now I am deciding what I can do to make it physically safe in light of recent events and registered cases in Havering.

Here’s what I am going to do:

  • Spray the therapy room with Dettol
  • Provide Tissues
  • Provide hand gel if you want it – you don’t have to use it

If you feel unwell, please do not physically attend your session.  At your earliest opportunity please let me know and we can organise a telephone or video call session at the same time as your scheduled appointment time.

If, like other countries we have an imposed shutdown, or self-isolating we can of course continue our sessions via telephone or video call.

Should you wish to cancel or reschedule your session, the normal cancellation policy will apply.

If you are unfamiliar with a video call, please let me know and we can go through the procedure

I will, of course do the same should I feel unwell.

I would also like to address confidentiality.  In the unlikely event that one of my clients, family or myself is exposed to the Corona Virus, it is a requirement to share all those that we have been in contact with.  I will only share your name and contact number, no other details of our work together.

If you wish to discuss any of the above further, please let me know.

Thank you

Carmela
